Ancillary Text CD case mockup

As part of my ancillary text research, I have created a mock-up of both the front and back of the CD cover. I have been brainstorming the different names I could use for my artist instead of 'The XX'. I have not full decided on a name but for the purpose of these mock-ups I am going to be using the name 'Luna'. The first mock-up I have done is using an image without people in it, which is becoming quite conventional for indie artists.

Image before mock-up:

BACK

For a first attempt, I feel these mock-ups are quite successful. The design is eyecatching and would stand out on a shelf, however on the back it is hard to see the song names as the colour does not stand out well on the image. I will try and rectify this in my next mock-ups.

Rough Video Draft

This draft is of the first 30 seconds of my music video, using only my actress- Tash. I wanted to keep editing to a minimum in my video as I want it to have a very basic but effective feel to it, however this draft involves minimal editing and I will be including more as I progress on with editing my video. I am hoping to add an almost 'fuzzy' effect in my video, similar to the one seen in the Arctic Monkey's video for 'R U Mine'

(This effect only lasts a split second, which made it very hard to get a screenshot of! It catches the viewers attention immediately and I think this will look great, especially as my video is black and white. It gives the impression that the camera is very old and keeps running out)

Updated Cast List

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Jack can no longer appear in my music video. Although this is inconvenient, I hadn't filmed any footage of him yet so I will not have to re-film the same shots with my new actor.

New male actor:

Matt Heuck

Matt is 18 and is at college. He studies Media, English Language and Music Technology, and therefore not only does he understand how important this video is, his keen interest in music will be reflected in my video. Matt is also my boyfriend, so I know I can rely on him to be in the video and carry out the directions that I have. He also drives, which will prove really useful if we ever need to get to locations that we are unable to walk to. Tash and Matt are good friends which will make the filming of the video a lot easier and neither of them will find it awkward.
